Part 1 provides an in-depth discussion of advanced mathematical thinking, and explains how a student will need to adapt and extend their existing skills in order to develop a good understanding of undergraduate mathematics. I still have a lot I can do to improve and this book and the ideas provided will hopefully help me get there.

And some ways it was, some ways it was not – throughout the book you will be assumed to be an undergraduate and will be given advice that is a couple of years late and you had learned it a hard way already.

If you survived calculus, differential equations, statistics, linear algebra, and the likes, you can finish off your major; you are almost there, but it’s going to be a pain once you hit real analysis ultimately the final hurdle of your undergraduate math education.
